In this book, Asaf Rozanes has really created a beautiful short story about how size ‘doesn’t matter at all’. This is something that is quite important for our children to learn, because we all know that other kids can be really ruthless when making fun of someone. Though the story is about height, you could apply this lesson to any imperfection that your child has. You can show them with this book that there are more important things other than a normal appearance, such as having a big heart.

This lively story contains delightful full colour illustrations. It tells the tale of a short little girl who is sidelined by other kids because of her lack of height. One day she is able to assist them. Afterwards they invite her to play. Then the other kids discover that she is talented and fun. She gets accepted as part of their team. The story is told in rhyme that was surprisingly simple but good. At the end of the story there is a search and find activity but you will need excellent eyesight to locate most of the hearts. The small font on a Kindle Fire can be enlarged by double tapping on the words. This was a high-quality reading experience.

This is the second book I have read by this author and he did not disappoint. I lovely story about the same little girl Mia again in rhyme. This books teaches that it doesn’t matter if there is something different about another child. He has a very clever way of writing these stories without the child realising that there is a meaning behind them and is teaching them to be kind. Again the illustrations are very colourful and fab. Not to forget the little game at the end of the book. A fabulous 5* read

I read the book with my 8 year old and we both just loved it!
Starting with the colorful and lively drawings that pass the story almost without words, through the words and rhymes that touch a very sensitive coping of children at almost every age.

This is a wonderful story that helps young children see and understand that to be different gives us all something very special to contribute in our world. It also teaches that pushing others around and being a bully is for naught. In this book, we learn that we all have a place and that we all can help one another. It shows that there is something very special about being unique, and sharing that uniqueness helps everyone around us become more well-rounded, and hopefully more considerate and helpful towards others.

I really enjoy a good picture book. They just fill me with joy. Mia gets a lesson on the importance of difference and how being different can be a great advantage. She learns not to worry about the little things in life – no pun intended. There are important things in life one should focus on and other things that you shouldn’t really worry about – such as whether you’re short or tall.

I have read all three of this author’s books and they are the perfect books to be read in classrooms with such an important, inspirational message. It is obvious that this author truly understands children and is able to connect with them through these rhythms. I will be reading these to my children.

I loved this story! It’s so important to help children realize that they can be a significant part of their group, even if they are different. The group should also be reminded that no one should ever be left out! Try hard enough and you will find a way to include everyone!
